That's the same problem I have. It makes no difference if you set the "reminder" to 0 or not on the Ping meter, the pump will still remind you in 2 hours. ...Joe

Jay, I agree...in theory to your response regarding changing the reminder notification...BUT....does this work for anyone else? I can change mine to 0 but no matter what, it WILL remind me in 2 hours unless I do the change on the pump itself... ...

If you press and hold the far right button on the meter remote it will back-light. Also, my daughter is new to the pump and the first time we changed her battery I called in to customer support to make sure I did it right. You don't need to do a ...

I'd like the meter to be more..I'm not sure what would be a fitting word here..responsive? I feel like there is a bit of a lag when I go in and try to move around the menu. I wish it was a bit more snappy. :)

The original poster is just trying to start a discussion about things they would like to see in future releases of this meter and not complaints (per se). I don't see anything wrong with discussing it in the pump section of the forum, personally.

Joe, I found out one of your # beefs is operable from the remote. On the reminder, it works from the remote just like from the pump. When the remote displays "Check BG in X hours" CONFIRM. Scroll up and highlight the X hours. Press OK and scroll t...

Try and get a "hands on" in-home demo of both the Ping and the MM pumps. Do as much research as you can about them on line (at the manufacturers sites). Try out their virtual pumps (both companies offer them on line). Still...nothing beats having...

Has nothing to do with MM vs Animas. The point being his complaints would be best directed at Animas, IMO. If you don't like that opinion, I have more, Sarah...

1. Backlighting on the meter. The pump has a nice bright display but the meter display is dim and can't be used in a movie theatre. 2. One-button delivery after entering BG and carbs, rather than having to scroll the bolus up to the calculated amo...

Hi Ray...thanks for the tip on the "personal" settings on the meter. I've already done this...and my problem is that my meal times can vary quite a bit. Weekday breakfast (for example) us USUALLY around 5:30 AM, while on the weekend, it's anywhere...

I agree that you should be able to temp basal with the remote. I try to not touch the pump at all, but always gotta pull it out before working out. Not a deal breaker, but a little bit annoying. As for #2, you can change the time periods of your ...

I agree with you Joe - I would personally LOVE to see the ability to set a temp basal or change basal patterns from the remote, and I can only hope that future versions will include this ability. You can easily change the "tagging" of any BG test...

What's wrong with sharing opinions/suggestions here? Unless you as a MM just don't want to hear it, but that's your issue, not everyone else's!

You need to contact Animas--we can't help you with your issues.

After having used the Animas Ping with remote for 7 months, I've got several minor gripes with the system. 1. ALL pump functions should be accessible via the meter remote (setting a temp basil, turning off the "reminder" x hours after a bolus are...

Joe, thanks for getting back to me. Actually, you already answered my question tonight so don't sweat it if you are busy. I am leaning heavily on your comments and the report written about the same time by Paris. The two of you covered all the most important issues in my mind and now that I've seen both pumps, I plan to read those comments again this weekend. I like both the pumps and there are things we all wish we could combine on these different pumps. It's a tough decision and I have a lot of notes about each model. I thought that along with my notes, if I read yours and Paris's comments again, that should give me a solid base for my decision. If you care to add anything or share any info with me, please know it is greatly appreciated. This is such an important decision to me. I've wanted this for 3 years and am very hopeful it will slow down some of the health deterioration I'm having from diabetes. Good luck with your own battle,
Karla

Hi Joe,

I finally got my pump demos over and am now trying to decide on my choice. I was again reading some things on the thread I started that you participated in. It is the one about the best pump. You mentioned the software and that you can graph by "Time of day" or by "Set mealtimes". Am I remembering that right? There's just so much written on this website ad I get it confused sometimes. I thought I read that the software with the Ping would only graph by set mealtime and not by time of day. This is important to me because I don't usually eat three meals a day but might add a couple or three small snacks in a 24 hr period. I don't sleep much at night so if I'm up all night, I get that empty feeling and a low. In any case, my eating is weird and I look forward to a pump to help with that. Can I graph by time of day and see what things are doeing? Also, are you one of the members who priviously had a MM? I know you are using the Animas now. This is such an important decision for me as I use Medicare thru my disability. They warranty for 5 yrs instead of 4 like private ins. so whatever I choose, I'm using for at least 5 yrs if not longer. They will only replace after that if it's medically necessary to upgrade to newer model so you see why I've made this a big deal. Also, I've needed it for a long time and did not qualify before but am now converting from T2 to T1 or 1.5 as my insulin production is nearly nil and my autoantibodies coincide with same. Thanks for prior comments on the thread and you offered help so you're on!
