I would love to have this discussion with Joe in 10-20-30 years from now and see if he was able to have as tight control. THose four simple things just don't cut it for me. I test 6-12 times daily and have issues. I know it is my diet and stress e...

This discussion raised a lot of emotions, but I think ended up being very educational in the end. If you are looking for a meaningful discussion on this topic, I encourage you to read through the 6 (!) pages of comments (not only the initial quest...

Why don't some of us take better control? Because whatever you do you can't control it ...ever. It does whatever it wants, whenever it wants, despite doing all the " recommened " actions. And who the hell wants to live like this?

I'm not a type I diabetic. I do what needs to be done to keep my blood sugars under control as a type II. Yet, with all I do, I get very discouraged and frustrated that things don't work out. I've had it! I've not quit, I love being alive, but I w...

Hi! I read your post about people not taking care of themeselves and you said you wanted to do something positive with all of your passion. What about starting a Diabetes Healthy restaurant which offers ice cream and such, but if someone w D orders it, they are going to get a mouthful of rudeness and a list of complications served with it?

If that restaurant was available to me, I'd go there every time I wanted something tasty to eat! Because it would force me to consider all the possible bad outcomes for every single fantastic bite of it! haha.

Keep trying. You'll crash and fall down, but it is definitely a roller coaster of a disease. Chronic- always always there, never giving up even when you want one second of freedom.

But, this community has definitely made me focus more on my T1D and I've really gotten myself under better control than before.

It's a good place with good people.

Good luck!

No worries Joe. I have posted commentary before that people have jumped all over me about. Just like everything in life, moderation is the key, go extreme in either direction expect to get a reaction as you saw on your most recent post.

In the end it was a good discussion even if peoples feather got ruffled.

Have a good day--Dave

I agree! This is a great place and what we need :) Even when my friends and family are helpful and supportive, it's nice to know that there are others out there walking the same walk!

Hey Karen! Thanks for contacting me. Yes, I am 1 year with type 1.5 with I hope a lot more before becoming a 1... I have taken things in stride and made the best of the situation by getting in great shape and doing my best to watch my numbers. My last HC1 was 5.9 so I guess I am doing pretty good. I am looking forward to getting a lot from this network and hope I can help a few people along the way myself. Thank you again for the hello and hope to hear from you again soon. Joe
