Know this sounds silly, but have you washed your hands... pref with a little bit of soap.. Two things iv found with these more sensitive/shorter time meters... 1. If you try to force blood into the strip by "scooping" or pushing the strip against ...

Well the problem is the company that originally made the only at-home A1C test (with immediate results sort of vanished (least that I know of for the home-user)... the mail-in was a decent substitute but now it seems Bayer Diagnostics has bought t...

You're welcome to turn up August 1st, it's all very informal. Thanks for the heads-up on the Bayer device I hadn't noticed it.

I'm supposed to get a package on the 27th that I think will include what I requested :-) I thought about requesting a Jazz, but for me, I think the Presto does all I'll ever need, as long as it produces graphs and reports - and even though I don't have to pay for test strips, I still like the idea that the Presto's strips are so much cheaper than the Jazz's. Let me know what you think of the Jazz!

On another D forum (forgot which one!) someone worked for Agametrix and I think was very quietly trying to help with a free cable or two, but I'd have to see if I could find that comment again ;-( Another (minor) problem now - the meters come in several colors including pink and purple. I have a coupon for a free meter, but nobody offers anything but blue - and I want pink or purple or any color but blue or black ;-) Maybe from wavesense direct, as I do have a validated coupon. I'll report back if I have any luck. At least I got my first bunch of test strips today, and when it gets close to refill time for the OneTouch strips I'll ask my doctor for Presto strips, which my CVS will order in for me. I'm not sure, either how my Blue Cross through work would feel about a mail order pharmacy....??

I saw on a post that you said you were having lows at night and had tried splitting your Lantus dose, I too had that problem and finally have got it right. I don't do an even split............I take a total of 30 units Lantus, but I take 20units in the am (8am) and 10 units in the pm(10pm) has been working really good...no lows at nite. I may even have to reduce the am to 18 soon. Just thought I would share since that was one of my biggest problems with the 24 hr. dose. Maybe it would help you. good luck
