Hi John YOU ARE NOT ALONE and it's very natural to hurt when something like this comes into your life. You are doing all the right things and therapy is an excellent idea in fact, I have yet to meet anyone who would not benefit from it.

There is an ebb and flow to all things including our emotions that are directly tied to our sugars. I don't know if it will help but by all means check out either my page, or some things I have written at www.oprah.com/community/community/health/diabetes in the Diabetes Support Board entitled Diabetes The Real Cost.

Good for you for reaching out, this is exactly what this site is for and hang in and hang on. Your going to beat it hands down. It picked the wrong guy it's that simple. By the way what station are you on, and can we get you over the net? When you get a minute please get back and let me know.

Love Always
The Anonymous Diabetic.

so john, i read your "sick of this" post. nothing lasts forever so how are things now?? sounds like you have a fun job. you said your page was blah???? yea right! you could check out some more groups. this lean on me sounds like a downer to me. in order to deal, i have to have more positive stuff since im a long time diabetic w/ 2 artificial legs. i try to stay up - so to speak - i still do my entertainment business, do lots of travel, drive a regular car & basically enjoy life. you can comment on my page if you would like. would love to hear how its going

Hey man. Read your post....sick of this....

Just wanna say I'm right there in the same leaky boat. I have no immediate words of inspiration for you, cause I catch the same BS from everyone around me (who's NOT diabetic, thus have NO inkling as to what I'm going through) who warn me about the effects of not taking care of myself.

I get kinda sick of people reminding me that death might approach faster if I don't act this way or that. All I have to say is that I've come to the conclusion that the only satisfaction that will come out of me at least TRYING to take care of myself will be the fact that I kinda HAVE to be self-absorbed and self-righteous, strictly on the basis that if I don't, then I might end up with an emergency room visit and a hospital bill I'll never be able to pay for. Haha...

I've got no insurance, and I freelance/play music for a living. Not the best combo (or cash flow) for me to be living a healthy lifestyle.

We've all got demons, man. We've all felt (feel) sorry for ourselves and angry at the "gift" of life. It's hard not to. But just think of the millions of others probably fending off these same demons right now. I guess that's why you and I are both on this site now, right?

Really, I just wanted to thank you for feeling exactly how I do every day....like !@#$.
