I've been diabetic for 13 years now, and 3 children later, I can guarantee I wouldn't be where I am without this disease. Trust me, I'd rather not have it, but I've learned to slow down, say NO frequently and be more careful and loving to myself. ...

Type 1 Diabeties, A Gift?

Many people might have issue with my ideas, but I'm going to say it anyway.

Honestly, I could not imagine my life without diabetes. And in a strange way, I am grateful.
Being diabetic has increased my appreciation of the human body. It has given me a reason to be more health conscious and disciplined. It is the reason that I do not let a day go by without feeling extremely grateful and fortunate to be alive. It has given my life greater depth and meaning.

Take a moment out of your day to educate a public officer on type 1 diabetes...

Have you had experiences with fireman, police officers, or other public officers where it became readily apparent that they didn't have a basic understanding about what type 1 diabetes is?

Today, tell 3 other people the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Today, tell 3 other people the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Hi Jon,
Was looking at the great pictures of your new running partner and happened to see you live in Berkeley. Me, too! (Well, Oakland.) I ask you for a doctor recommendation some day (if you have a good one). I am in the market for a new endo.
Later!
