I try to test the children when I can just to keep an eye on things. They run at around 6.2 6.5, I was wondering if this is normal for non-D children, should they be lower. These reading were taken…Continue

How do PWD lose their legs, how bad does it need to be. Could you just lose a leg by having a cut on it that doesn't heal. Could you lose one by having decent control but being D a long time. Does it…Continue

I've been on these babies for about two weeks now, had the flu vaccine last week so I wouldn't count that for an idea of how the bg is going. This week however I've noticed a lot of lows, could it be…Continue

I was on this wonderful site three years ago. I drifted away from it, don't really know why, but anyway still here and alive and well. I see a lot of new faces on here and would be delighted to get talking to you all. I would absolutely love to get in touch with some to the old members. My old profile is still here, its Josephine O'Donnell, Ireland. ( PAGE 544 ). I look forward to chatting to you, especially my wee Robyn. Nothing much going on since. I have tried many times to lower the HbA,…

Hello all, just sitting here in Ireland on a cold, windy, wet day. All I can think about is toast and soup. I would dearly love to follow a low carb diet, but find it near impossible at times. It is slightly easier in the Summertime. Any advice on how to combat the hunger pangs. At the moment I eat about 120g of carbs per day. I try to avoid protein because I have early kidney damage. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I've been told by my doctor that I have mild kidney disease. I have requested my medical records, still waiting for them eight months later. I will discuss how bad the situation is at my next appointment. I have been trying to lower my hba these last few months. It is 8% at the moment, I would like to get it to 6% soon. My question is could my kidney problems have an effect on my hba results. I also have a very low body temperature and low iron levels. I would mention it to my diabetic team…

acidrock23 said… Awesome!! I'm glad to hear you're ready to rock and roll! Plus, of course, the egomaniacal satisfaction of being correct!! I think that lot of people trudge around in shoes they've had for years, try to get going and are discouraged by the excruciating consequences.
Admittedly, I probably buy more shoes than I need but whatever! I was gonna get another pair but they were out of my size at 2 stores. There's a third. This AM, I was like "hmmm, I should call over there, maybe they've got the elusive Brooks PureCadence in an 11 1/2...in Black..." but I said "you geek just run" and ran and had the fastest 10K I'd ever run. At my age! LOL.

Our Annual Campaign is coming!
Would you consider helping by writing a short comment/testimonial about your
experiences at TuD? The main message for the campaign this year is that no
one with diabetes should ever feel alone. Messages from our community give
people a real-life, personal sense of how valuable TuDiabetes is to each of
us, how it's changed our lives, etc.
If you can, please include a photo of you doing something diabetic (if that
makes sense LOL). Please post to this group
(http://www.tudiabetes.org/group/why-i-participate-in-this-community), or
message to me from my page.
