Yup, as Sarah said, its function is to keep the strips dry as they can be damaged by humidity. That's why it's important never to store or transport the strips in a container other than the one they were packaged in.

Hey Josh!

You're right, that 6% thing is the A1c, and I have to test my next one soon.
You can get yours at the doctor! The one calculated out of my meter never was correct... So they have a special measurement for that ; )
And indeed there are a lot of delicous recipes that are healthy! I want to focus on that, more : ) Well... I'm right now moving into a flat share, and I hope we'll cook there a bit more often together. During semesters, I mostly ate in the cafeteria...^^

Work. We both were laid off from Microsoft and struggled to find work. My husband has been in games for over 15 years and was offered a teaching job here. We jumped at it. It was hard, but we are loving it so far.

Thanks for your comment on my blog!
You sound quite brave and powerful! After so many struggles, many people would have given up and you are seeing things so positive! : )
No joke, I'll copy some of you're lines into my BS-Diary to keep myself motivated.
I guess until now I have been quite undecisive, but I want to change that!
I must admit, I love cake. And I still haven't got rid of eating too much of that stuff, but I want to keep that choice you spoke of in my mind everyday.
Seriously!

When I was diagnosed (at age 9) I first was very disciplined and ate no sweets at all.. The frustration just came later. But I think you're right that one CAN motivate teens, too. I have often thought about, how. But focusing on keeping fit instead of "You have to manage a serious disease now" is a very good idea, I think.

Holy cow, I can't believe you are from Arlington. My husband grew up in Crowley. I lived in the DFW area for 15 years before moving to Seattle.....then on to Auckland New Zealand. Such a small world!

I've been saving my introducer needles from my infusion sets. I was hand dying some fabric, and tried to "sunprint" the needles on the fabric, but it didn't come out too well. I may do something else with them. I must have 1000.
