For The Third TIme...

Posted on March 29, 2011 at 10:43pm 3 Comments

It all began as a lousy Sunday afternoon. I thought my body was tired due to simple fatigue. But when the tiredness won't go away, I started to worry a bit. Having asked permission from my health insurance to visit the ER for a check-up, off I went to the hospital (coming from the shopping mall 10 kms away). I calmly told the nurse there that I was feeling tired, even after…

Diabetes Expo 2010

I was invited by Johnson & Johnson Medical (Philippines) to guest for their exhibit, the "Word in Your hand" contest, sponsored by their One Touch Glucose Meter Systems. The contest, which idea came form DHF's Word in Hand, is already running on it's second year, and I am so blessed to be able to grace the said occasion again. It was just astounding! The booth was swarmed by people eager to join the contest! Though tiring, smiles in the peoples' face sure made it all worth… Continue

I was invited to judge an contest for Johnson and Johnson, as one of their contributing activities for the 17th Diabetes Awareness Week Celebration ( July 19-26, 2009) held in SM Mall of Asia, July 19, 2009. The contest was entitled "Word in Hand" This being an original concept of DHF, Johnson and Johnson Philippines, contacted DHF for permission to use "Word in Hand" for their activities. Manny Hernandez (DHF Founder) agreed, and as a courtesy, I was invited to judge J&J's Word in Hand… Continue

A birthday, a funeral...rebirth.

Just as I promised Manny, I am now officially going back online at TUD. I have not been my old self lately, having been hospitalised and diagnosed with more ailments. Long story short, weeks of soul searching did the trick. All I need was to regain my confidence in facing my health's challenges. Brooding would do nothing for me. Also, I would need to remember that the TuDiabetes community would be there beside me, just as it has always been. I just cannot stand here while others remain lonely,… Continue

Another Challenge...Gastriris.

Posted on March 15, 2009 at 2:30pm 6 Comments

Three days after my upland Vacation in Baguio City, my stomach suddenly went uneasy. Rather quickly, I get very feverish, and body malaise sets in. Thinking it was just another bout of fever, I immediately take paracetamol and flu medication. But four hours later, things turn for the worse, I become way too feverish, and my stomach gives in to extremely loose bowel movement. I gave my mom a ring, and when she got home, she decided to rush my to the nearest hospital (which happened to be just… Continue

Hi Jovanni. I read your blog...I really do hope you will feel better soon. Asthma sucks (i have it too) so as diabetes and all other health concerns. At least they caught the asthma before it exacerbated. You're one lucky guy... Youre right though...hospitals and much meds wear us down. Maybe the nice peaceful rest at home will help you...with your family's tender loving cares =) Take care...get stronger soon.
