"I use the Mio and haven't had problems. Mine uses a thin metal needle type thing to insert but only leaves the plastic cannula below the skin. I'm not sure if there are more types than what I have though. I do get a little sore sometimes…"

"who is your insurance company? is provided by the US government? I am using tri-care which is the military's retirement insurance and they basically follow medicare guidelines for quantities paid for."

"If you like and are used to the pump than keep the same brand. It all depends on what you want. research the different brands to see what you might like I am on my first pump and the dr set me up with the mini-med rep and that's who went with."

"I use the quick sets with the insert-er. I tried it once mannuly and it was just like using a needle. I also use a sure t set which has a steel needle and it inswerts like a needle also. But i also use the inserter because it does it fast."

"I am sorry but I feel this is not a problem. when you fill the cannula you are not attached to the pump. I can not see how a person would not notice that. You have to push insulin until you see drops than you attach the set to your body than you do…"

Welcome to the family!! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of what you will learn is that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and vent to, if needed.

Take a peek at some the groups when you get a chance. Just go to the top of your page, and click on "Groups". Once in,
click on "all groups". You can either peruse the wide array of available groups....or simply type a specific interest in the
