I know I found the right person when my diabetes wasn't chore for her, but a part of what makes me who I am. Hope we make to it 30 years as well. Congrats!

Hi. I'm down for meeting my fellow peeps with diabetes. I'm mostly free on weekend days in cafes. Anyone down for coffee/tea and Scrabble/Yahtzee?

Have you noticed this according to blood sugar levels? I find I am where you describe more often when I am high or low. Other than that, sounds like it could be psychological? I had problems of the sort when I first started the sexin' and found I ...

Hi. I've had diabetes for 27 years now and I definitely have noticed my memory "going". I tend to repeat what I've said, even in the same hour. I also tend to tell my partner the same stories more than once and I swore I never uttered the words. S...

Hi there JT! I wanted to welcome you and say hello! I saw you responded to a post I had in one of the groups regarding memory problems. Sounds like we have some of the same things going on! Frustrating, huh? I noticed we were diagnosed the same year and are about the same age too. So that's interesting that we are experiencing similar things going on. Fun times with the big "D"! Well I hope you are enjoying the site! It's a great place to be! :)

Welcome to TuD, JT. I'm so very glad you found us. I'm planning the first ever Portland TuD Meetup---a potluck picnic in one of our beautiful parks August 29 or 30. Join the US Northwest diabetes group and follow the Portland Meet-Up discussion for details. I'd dearly love to get to know you. My grandson has 2 Moms, as does my #1 niece. You'll find TuD a very diverse and kindly community. And Manny and our Admin folks always on top of any difficulties.

I admire your choice of specialties, too. My godson is Down's Syndrome and doing really well now as a teener.

I'm wishing you well and I do hope we'll get to meet.....Judith

Hey there!

I'm new to this diabetes community thing. Looking forward to meeting people and learning tips and hearing stories. I know I'm not the only person who feels alone with this and that's why I am here.

Besides living with diabetes, I am a full-time student pursuing a degree in special education, with an emphasis on autism. I am known for my tasty low-fat, vegan chocolate cup cakes and "fancy" duct tape wallets. I play a little guitar and enjoy biking for transportation (and fun!) and longboarding. I am also a human rights activist. We all have a right to be. In the words of Michael Franti: "Everyone deserves music."
