its been 7 months and we just went to the Dr. last week for his three month check up and the Dr. said he is officially not honeymooning anymore! his sugars have been running extreamly high for a while and the weekly call ins have not helped much. But now he has gone from 5 units of lantis at night to 9 and his meal correction is 1 unit for every 15 carbs.. i think that is too much cause he is going low after every meal. ill call in tomorrow and see if they will change it. He has adjusted well..… Continue

WOW - I can't imagine one of my daughter's going through what I'm going through. As an adult, we grin and bear it... but for a child it must be so hard. Thanks for the welcome, and I hope your son does well with his new pump.

My BGs were crazy too. I've had my pump for 2 yrs. Now my last A1C was 5 after having gotten to 20 before having the pump. Now like a normal person. Still have to check sugars often and count carbs order for the pump to do it's job right ..I have to do my job right. Hope eveything works out right. Please try to keep his BGs good because I went blind and had to get my eyeballs removed all because of high sugars . When I was a teenager, I wanted to be cool and fit in with everyone else so would not check my BG or take my insulin.CHOOSE SIGHT.
