A Diabetic Mind

Posted on June 30, 2011 at 10:47pm 4 Comments

It's funny how every time I give myself a new injection, each time i have to do blood-work, and each time i have to prick my fingers, squeeze until enough blood comes out, it never gets easier. Sometimes I even hesitate to do it... just like the first time i learned to give myself a shot. how is it that I can hate needles so much... but depend on them for my life? how is it i can do so well one day with numbers and so awful the next.. when i try so hard to do everything right?

The Last Battle

Posted on August 27, 2010 at 9:15pm 9 Comments

This post is long overdue. This past year I have had very poor control with my diabetes. I guess I was just tired of living with this thing, this annoying pest of a disease, and I pretended that it didn't exist. Well, I'm tired of feeling like crud. I'm tired of feeling horrible to the point that I can't function right. It's time to suit up for the battle for my life. If I don't suit up now, I will be destroying and wasting a life that has so preciously been handed to me by Heavenly Father. I… Continue

My Story

Posted on March 23, 2009 at 10:57pm 4 Comments

I've told my story of how I was diagnosed once before, on World Diabetes Day 2008 of last year. This time, I'm telling my story in a way I've never been able to before; in a way in which I hope to finally release the pain I feel inside about the disease that I share with many of you in this community. After all, isn't it about time to let go of the hurt and start living with vibrancy and happiness once again? I think it must be time. This is my story.

It was February 8th, 2007. That… Continue

I'm thinking 6 for an A1C is a goal I could try for too. I joined the gym but became too busy...the option was not to go and remain studying...seated...not a healthy choice. I'm checking out a new gym, one with a pool, 'cause it is too hot here to work-out unless you can stay cool. If I aim for 5 mths that will be May which is autumn here.

Hello, Kailee! I'm new today too. It will be a good Community for us, I'm sure. I lived in Provo when in school there, 1976-1980;; a few days ago was in SLC where husb and I went to celebrate marriage there 29 yrs ago. Best of adjustments and positive powers to you with this 'new' diabetes situation! My goal is to become [then stay] healthy enough to be alive & thriving when a cure rolls around, OR AT LEAST be active now in the efforts toward hastening the day when a cure is found,, to help future Kailees and our community. You rock, Sistah -- MAPP

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
