Total Career Change

Posted on November 10, 2011 at 9:58am 4 Comments

Well, many of you know that I'm a teacher. In Wisconsin. Yeah, enough said :) (I'm sure you've all heard about the political stuff affecting teachers in WI, on the news...)

For many reasons, some of them political, but many of them centered around philosophy and my own stress levels....I've decided to make a total career change. After this school year (my third teaching), I will be leaving the field and going back to school full-time to earn a B.S. in Healthcare Administration w/ a…

If Anyone Wants to Do the ADA Step Out Walk in Milwaukee....

Posted on October 9, 2011 at 10:03am 0 Comments

I started a "Team Red' for Milwaukee, because there wasn't one yet. This means anyone with diabetes, or someone who cares about a person with diabetes, can join the team. (It's sort of the 'team for people without a team', or for those who don't want to start their own.) If you live in the area and want to do the walk (this coming Saturday at 9am on the Milwaukee Riverwalk) and don't yet have a team, feel free to register yourself and any loved ones as members of Team Red.…

Hi Honey....? for you and I know you have already mentioned this but I cant read through the thread, How long after your vitrectomy until your eye even slightly became clear? Mine is still thick waxed paper like, no vision just images and color. I am getting a bit concerned. Thank you for all of your support by the wau, love to you. xo

I had no idea that angels posted on the TUD boards Kari (un ange de beauté).

I noticed your twitter mentions issues with retinopathy, that is an area in which i’ve also have trouble. My eyes are damn terrible these days, and yet any eye scans i’ve had return as positive, now i’m confused as to wheher the problem is inlaid with Diabetes at all whilst my mind says it is. How have you fared in this area ?

Hi Kari,

I just wanted to say great job on what your doing. I have read a few of your blogs and things and am impressed with your attitude on dealing with this. Especially your desire to experiment. That is what I have done all of my life. I just recently went on the MM pump a year ago and its been working for me fine. I also use Novolog and my carb ratio now is 1:11 but I am still playing around with that and setting different basal rates based on time of day. It's cool you're a teacher too! Both of my parents were teachers. Keep it up! Ken
