Hi there, I was just reading the WashU link about the cured rats, awesome! I am in St. Louis too, and I am a Type I diabetic who is also a Registered Dental Hygienist. Seems like we have a lot in common. I work in south St.Louis for Dr. Jay Joern and in Rock Hill for Dr. Wm. Hartel. My MD is John Daniels at Barnes, I'm MDI but my A!C is not great so I am considering a pump this fall. Where do you work? And have you ever attended Cara Bauers' support group? I think I might contact her and go soon. Hope to hear from you! Thanks for all the great links and posts, I read them all the time but never noticed you were in STL. Thanks, Robin Macke

Well done Kaycee and thanks for Dr Dan's advice. Our psychology as human beings is the fork in the road for any challenges we face. I have done very well over the last thirty five years as an insulin dependant diabetic and like all of us, have had both good and bad days.

If you are curious about my level of sccuess check out www.oprah.com/community/community/health/diabettes and look for Diabetes The Real Cost.

I have also written an article in the tudiabetes general forum called DIABETES PSYCHOLOGY 101. Our thoughts dictate our actions and it is the beginning, or the end of the way(s) to make things better. No need to reply, thanks and keep doing what your doing.

Love Always
The Anonymous Diabetic.
