Kelly, the feedback I have heard on the OmniPod is that the pod is fairly large and there have been a bunch of people complaining about insurance coverage.

I think the only benefit it holds, which is pretty big, is that there is no tubing. That helps to conceal the "pump"/pod and make it more discrete.

Hope this helps.

Oh yes I love my omnipod. It is my very first pump after being diabetic for 17 years I finally made the switch, I think i was really waiting for something withouth the tubes. It also helped lower my A1C from 9.1 to 6.5 so I love it. of course there are problems all new technology has them but wouldnt change it for anything except being cured....

That's a great question about the CGMS. I inquired this year about it and found that my insurance would cover 70%, which still leaves me with that much more monthly medical costs. So the money is one reason I have held off.

Another reason is for the fact that I don't think the devices are where they should/could be yet. They are large, I hear of constant issues with them staying on, giving accurate readings, etc. Plus, you still need to test your sugar for meals and a few times to calibrate the sensor. For me the benefit really isn't great enough yet.

If they get smaller, more accurate and cheaper, I may jump on board. I would like to see an infusion set that delivers insulin and tests glucose all in one.

I hope this helps.

Hi Kelly. There is a ton of information aroud the web for us pumpers. Is there anything specific you are looking for?

I have been pumping for a few years now and post a lot of my real-life issues on my blog. I'd love to hear your feedback.

Welcome!
Tony
