Hi! My name is Kelly-Dayne, and I am a 21-year-old college student, writer and diabetes advocate. I have had type 1 diabetes for little over 5 years, and diabetes has definitely dramatically changed my life.

For the past three years, I have worked as a diabetes youth advocate - and serve on the Novo Nordisk International Diabetes Youth Panel. We travel, we speak with people, we write everywhere we can, and we work to raise awareness about diabetes.

As a youth panel, our main charge is to raise global awareness about the UN resolution on diabetes and reach 1 billion people with the message to "unite for diabetes."

I love meeting people who are passionate about diabetes, health care and public health. :) My other passions in life are biology (the college major), basically anything outdoors, Alaska, Egyptology, traveling to new places and being a musician.

How's it all going Kelly? I am happy that you are reading this and that you are a member of the growing TuDiabetes family.

Since the community was formed back in early 2007, lots of things have changed. Also since then, lots of new members have joined: we're now nearly 11,300 members. So, new members and new features means it never hurts to refresh how things work around the community.

If you haven't read it, I invite you to take a few minutes to go through our New Member Guide. If you have been a member for a while but have let a little dust accumulate on your TuDiabetes account, you will find it very useful. If you joined just recently, you will find it EVEN MORE handy.

If you don't find answers to a question you may have, never hesitate to ask. Click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page and one of the members of our Admin team (you can see their faces on the bottom right side of any page) will get back to you shortly.
