"Add me to the broken wheel club. Came off when I took the G4 out of my pocket. Getting a replacement sent."

KevinMR replied to George's discussion '7+ unreliable and tech support is lousy' in the group Dexcom Users
"Unfortunately performance like in the picture you posted happened on occasion with the 7+ (it happened all the time with the first Seven). You have to just keep calling Dexcom and getting replacement sensors. A pain for sure. Hopefully you will get…"

KevinMR replied to alba37's discussion 'Any tips for a new CGM user?' in the group Dexcom Users
"Agree with the suggestion to get the G4 instead of the 7+. The biggest benefit from the Dex is being able to see trends in blood glucose. If your son was just fingersticking before, it is an eye-opener to see the graphic changes in blood glucose…"

KevinMR replied to KevinMR's discussion 'Failed G4 Transmitter' in the group Dexcom Users
"Just a one-day meeting and it went ok. Funny going through TSA I kept patting my pocket looking for the receiver. I used my One Touch quite a bit...just like the old days, LOL. New transmitter was shipped and will arrive tomorrow so one more day of…"

"Where's your meeting? I've been in that situation - as long as you're in the same place for a day or two they can fedex it to you where you are. Good luck - & fingerprick like a madman."

Failed G4 Transmitter

Yes, not a failed sensor...a transmitter failure.I've been using the G4 for a few months and have been really happy with it (aside from the adhesive problems). This past week, though, I had three "out of range" episodes that were very unusual. All three episodes were the same. For an hour duration, I would get an "out of range" indication even though the receiver and sensor/transmitter were close to each other. After the third occurrence this week I called Dexcom and told them about it. I was…See More

KevinMR replied to Laddie's discussion 'Started my Gen4 today' in the group Dexcom Users
"Clare, your point about Day 7 accuracy is why many here have had good experience re-starting an existing sensor on day seven. Performance in the second week (or at least as long as it will last in the "extra" time) is usually pretty good."

KevinMR replied to Laddie's discussion 'Started my Gen4 today' in the group Dexcom Users
"I just finished my 4th Gen 4 sensor. The first one lasted 13 days and was absolutely perfect from the first minute until the end. I killed it on the 13th day just because the tape was going bad (the original adhesive plus the Opsite tape. Second…"

KevinMR replied to Lizzie's discussion 'Review of my first 10 days with G4' in the group Dexcom Users
"I'm just four days into my G4, and my comments would echo yours, except my "accuracy" has been excellent since the first reading. I started the G4 after work last week...and entered the first calibrations at about 10 pm. Something I…"

KevinMR replied to Jeff's discussion 'Bad Experience ... Any others??' in the group Dexcom Users
"I've had occasional luck restoring Error 1's, entering a fingerstick after an hour. More often than not, though, SE 1's are indeed fatal. If you read my 3.75 year update thread, you'll see that I share much of your frustration…"

"Isn't T1 amazing that we put up with expensive, unreliable tech? My hope is that some of the variable performance from sensor to sensor is due to the hand-made process and that the machine-produced G4 will be better. I wish they had skipped…"
