"Sometimes the moisture in there is sweat from your body so it leaves a residue that is electrically conductive so simple drying won't solve it. You need the spray a good amount of 90%+ pure alcohol into the circuit to get rid of the buildup. If…"

"Use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the cover so you can easily lift it with a razor. When installing it, place the cover on the pump and reheat it then apply pressure to the outside corners so the glue settles back in when it cools."

"A21 means you need to put in a fresh battery OR that the battery compartment is corroded. To clean the compartment you need contton swabs and 90% isopropyl alcohol."

Medtronic button Error Emergency work-around

I am a biomedical engineer and a user of the medtronic paradigm 522 insulin pump. I have recently ran into the dreaded button error that many people have with this specific pump. I have devised a work-around to make the pump usable again (until a replacement is sent.)



If you peel back the adhesive cover for the buttons, you will see the circuit and metallic part for the buttons..



The button error is caused by moisture getting in between the silver metal and gold contact.… Continue
