Welcome if you are reading this blog post. I just wanted to let you know I am the founder and executive director for a diabetes assistance nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charity. We take financial donations (of course) but we also accept unexpired diabetes supplies and used insulin pumps. You get a tax receipt and the supplies you send will be given away for free to people in need. We give away meters, lancets, test strips, pumps, and cash assistance to help buy insulin. No other…

Hey, I'm really sorry if i offended you about the better name for type one diabetes.
I came off as some snotty teenage type one but i didnt mean to at all,
and i am deeply sorry for sounding that way on the discussion.
I'll be more careful of what i say really means from now on. :(

Ms. Wolfe,

My son was recently diagnosed with T1D. I belong to another group called slickdeals.net and this is a site that helps people find good deals on everything from groceries to electronics. During my time there, I have accumulated almost 100 New - In Box - and Unexpired blood sugar monitors. We use OmniPod and therefore have no need for them. Each of them has 10 strips in the box (Breeze 2, Bayer Contour mostly). How is the best way to get these to you (cheapest shipping)? Any ideas? Do you have a need for these?

hello,
my name is kathryn and i am 17 from england. I have a younger cousin who has type 1 diabetes and i was wondering if you could help!
I want to know what there is within pre-schools and kindergarten to help diabetic children. My cousin is from canada and as far as i can see it is up to the principle's discretion weather or not a child with diabetes can even go to their school, this is the problem we are having with my cousin.
I was wondering if you could inform me all about the policies to help me go to school learn and be happy.
I want everyone to see it is only diabetes, the lack of knowledge about this causes people to misconstrue and be prejudice towards diabetics.

thanks
kathryn

Just wanted to say hello, and that I love what you are doing with ipump.org! I was doing some spring cleaning last week, so mailed off a box to ipump. Hope you can put them to good use.

Hi Lahle, I sent you a box recently and I realized that my husband taped it up without putting in the note that I had written. So if you received a box at ipump.org of some pump supplies, a copy of "Pumping Insulin", and a few other things, that was from me in Sunnyside, Queens. Cheers!
