So tonight I wrote about some of the latest things that have been happening with Brennen's diabetes. The following is my "jornal"…See More

First Vacation with T1 - success!!!

Posted on July 6, 2011 at 6:57pm 9 Comments

Our first vacation after diagnosis was a success. I was very nervous and worried because we were traveling by plane to visit family in Puerto Rico for 10 days and I have heard horror stories about airline travel with diabetes supplies and pumps. Thank goodness it went off without a hitch (at least as far as the T1 stuff was concerned, but everything else is another story entirely.) I was trying to be extra prepared. We took a whole box of pods (10) even though we only needed to change it 4… Continue

Sick Day #1

Posted on June 19, 2011 at 7:03pm 0 Comments

Yesterday was a very busy day for me and my family. I was in my childhood best friend's wedding and my family was also invited. The boys seemed to have a great time at the reception. They had a blast dancing the night away! As it got later, they started to wind down and my five year old even fell asleep on two chairs that had been pushed together. So, my parents, who were also there, offered to take the boys home with them for the night and said we could just get them in the morning so they… Continue

My five year old would definatley not handle life with diabetes well at all, so I am praying that I am just being overly sensitive to something that is really nothing. My mom gave me the idea of checking his blood glucose once he went to sleep (he freaks out at the mere thought of blood.) So, I checked him and it… Continue
