problems with high sugars and Animas pump

I've been on the Animas ping pump for about a year or so now but in the last year and a half I have lost apporx. 80 lbs due to gastric bypass surgery.I had been using the 9mm insets due to my "larger" size and all of a sudden I have been having trouble with my blood sugar staying high and having to change out my sets like 2 or more times a day or every day and even taking shots of my Apidra insulin to get my sugars down, needless to say, I have been very frustrated. i finally got the idea that…See More

collecting data

Has anyone out there had a problem getting data from the DexCom off their computers? I downloaded my receiver before going to my doctor's appt. today and when I brought up the reports and hit the "print" button that shows up, by the way, the only way to print from that screen, it only prints half of the information that you are seeing on your computer. On my computer which has Windows Vista it has a nice graph and such to show my progress with the CGM but the print outs to show my doctor are…See More

Yes I belive fully tat we're here to show other's that it can be done w/diabetes. That's one reason I honor those who went befor me w/diabetes. As I said you made the way a little eaiser for me and I hope I made the way a little eaiser for my daughter and the generations after me. Look at all the stuff we have now! I think a diabetic who gets that diagnoses now has such a better chance that we did back when. I was the only diabetic in our small country school and the only one in my immedatient family. In fact when I got diabetes my parents decided they weren't going to have any more childern b/c they stood the chance of having diabetes. Back at that time you had to hide the fact that you had diabetes or you couldn't get a job now they have the ADA. THings have gotten so good for us. My Type 1 daughter was born missing her left hand then took Type 1 at 11 but now she's a CNA! A little pride here in mom on that one!

My 3 g-kids are going to work their way up the latter and who knows we might have the next American President in there somewhere! My youngest still has to have her 1st (she's 20 now) so I still got some g-kids to look forward too!!!

Yes VERY livable. I've had it now for 37 years (no where close to you but trying) Been pumping since 89 (on and off) LOVE my pump! I got a pancres transplant in the early 90's (when it was still VERY expermental) had 2 years w/o diabetes (oh but the antirejection meds) after 7 different rejection episodes found out the diabetes (to me) was better. I also have a Type 1 daughter and the pics that you see on my page are her 3 childern. Was told years ago I would never live to be 30 and NEVER have childern so I'm soooooo proud I get to see my grandchildern. Not to say things have been the best but they couldhave been LOTS worse!
