So this Christmas was my first time I was gonna fly anywhere without my parents. And to add to it I am diabetic and probably freaking out. But since I am with my best friend she is keeping me really calm the flight to Florida wasn't bad and the security was pretty okay but it wasnt the best experience. BUT then i get to the Tampa Airport and I tell the security guard and he goes "no problem dear, do you have a pump or anything on you?" and I tell him that I am on shots and he knods and smiles.…See More

I have been trying to keep an open mind, and not get down and let sugar slide due to it. But its hard because I am telling people that I am just meeting that I am Diabetic and they give me that look. Like the look that just makes it seems like your life is over, and that it must suck. And I try to explain to them that its not the end of the world. But I am starting to wondering if I am trying to tell them or just tell myself. Its just a lot harder then I thought it would be. And its moments…

My best friends have been so helpful through being diagnosed and everything that follows. Sometimes I think my best friend knows more about it then my mom. After I told her about what was going on she hopped on the computer and looked it all up. She was right there from the start and will even listen to me rant when I was having really off days. Take a peek at some the groups when you get a chance. Just go to the top of your page, and click on "Groups".
Once in, you can either peruse the wide array of available groups....or simply type a specific interest in the space provided.
