LauraNYC replied to Melissa M.'s discussion 'Basal rates before period' in the group Diabetes and Women
"Agreed! You know the last few days I've been having highs around midnight but chalked it up to indulgent dinners out (been very social this week!). Funny how it's so easy to blame yourself for these things and then realize it's…"

LauraNYC replied to Melissa M.'s discussion 'Basal rates before period' in the group Diabetes and Women
"I probably should set a basal setting - but I'm just figuring out the patterns now after a few months of experiencing it (or realizing that the two things were related). Do you have a harder time with carbs around this time too?"

LauraNYC replied to ranjana's discussion 'Safe to excercise first thing in the morning?'
"I realize that I'm joining this post years and years after it started! But I'm so glad I did. I've been having the exact same problem. If I run or bike in the morning my sugars will go up to the 200's. Whereas if I do it in the…"

LauraNYC replied to LauraNYC's discussion 'Trekking and altitude' in the group Diabetes and the Great Outdoors
"Hi all - Just wanted to circle back and share my experiences from the trail. The only effect I could see from the Diamox is that it would make me go low the hour after I took it. Nothing dramatic - but pretty consistent. Altitude changes seemed to…"

LauraNYC replied to Melissa M.'s discussion 'Basal rates before period' in the group Diabetes and Women
"I'm dealing with the exact same thing right now! I've been figuring out that I need to increase my basal rates around 20% the week leading up to my period. The tricky thing is that I don't seem to need it 24/7 - but just in the…"

Trekking and altitude

Hi all! I'm gearing up to do the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in just a few weeks. Super excited and getting all my kit together. The main thing I'm wondering about is how my body will react to the altitude since I live at sea level. Does anyone else have an experience similar to this - going from sea level to altitude PLUS doing a bunch of exercise at altitude? I'm planning on taking Diamox but have heard it can interfere with the effectiveness of the Dexcom. Any ideas?See More

Take a peek at some the groups when you get a chance. Just go to the top of your page, and click on "Groups".
Once in, you can either peruse the wide array of available groups....or simply type a specific interest in the space provided.
Take in some of the blogs/discussions as well.
The resource boxes at the top of the home "Home" page, and
"About us" at the very bottom of your page and every page (the footer), offer you more information still.

Hope you find the support and information you came looking for.
