I'm sorry I didn't respond to your note sooner. It just slipped my noggin'!

Ahhhhhhh, eating. Mother's milk to junk food. A staple of life. I just can't control what I do sometimes because sometimes it turns emotional and there's nobody here to help me through it! The more I eat, the more I need to exercise; the more I need to exercise, the more I realize that I can't because of my physical disabilities; the more I realize that, the more I hate my life, my situation, myself!

I know I sound like a hypocrite comparing the way I've written my profile and the way I feel. I just don't want anyone else to have to go through this. The life of complications that could be cut short of someone realizes that it's no way to go before they go down that long road.

Ahhhhhhh, I wax philosophical!! Better move on before I feel I can change the whole world!!

The Navigator is working well! I got a call on December 29 to see if I was ready to renew. They were still having supply problems so couldn't tell when the sensors would actually ship, but they were happy to ask me to order them.
I really like that I am able to tell right away when I miscalculate carbs and underbolus, or when the pump site is going bad and my bg is slowly rising. Fewer surprises, and it has really helped me fine-tune my basal and correction boluses.
How has it gone for you? Have you received yours?

Thanks so much for the vote Leah...I was surprised to see that there weren't that many entrants, but I guess that might just be a great thing for me. I really do appreciate all the help!!! :)

Wow - I'm sorry about the high out of pocket. Other medical suppliers have invoiced me with the shipment for my portion, so I was also surprised that they wanted the money up front. Maybe it's another result of the credit crunch or something. Apria isn't a new, fly-by-night operation so I'm surprised they won't cover that for at least the first shipment, then allow refills so long as you pay off your balance.
Apria also has a policy of shipping only 1 month supplies for the first order rather than 3, which makes sense when you can't return unused sensors if it doesn't work out for you. Did they cut back your order at all, and could they cut it back more to lower your payment?

I got a call from Apria this morning telling me that the backordered Navigator supplies were ready to ship!
Apria didn't inspire much confidence, though; they were calling to confirm my order and get my credit card # before shipping. First they had the order wrong and were trying to include test strips for another meter. We got that straightened out. I told them I should have the supplies shipped to work. Then the agent rattled off my home addresss but it was the address of someone in a small town in Oregon. So I got that straightened out, too. Now I was wondering if I just paid for someone else's order so I asked the agent who she thought she was talking to! She had my name right, anyway.
Kind of strange. But I hope to see the sensors arrive soon! I hope your order is ready, too.

Thanks for that comment Leah. You are so right! The pump makes my lifestyle alot easier and I can enjoy a variety of foods that used to be "taboo".The only time I have a problem is when I exercise or when I correct.I haven't quite figured out how much I should decrease my basal.I have a wonderful Diabetes Educator that helps me with my numbers.I can only think of 1 reason why my endo doesn't like the pump.It takes too much of his time to sit with the patient and go over basals, carbs, insulin sensitivity and the like.

I love to pop my own popcorn. There is a line of powder flavors that are awesome. You can eat a huge bowl for 1 point.. If you need some fun, melt 1 tbsp of chocolate into it for 1 pt, or use the powders for none. I also like to eat turkey pepper...

I have that same problem, my educator told me it is adrenalin related due to high intensity workout, I tend to go low later that day though. I still reduce my basal for the workout and take corrections while I am having high blood sugars, I just r...
