Hello Lesley:

Oh it would be so lovely if you could join us. I do understand how you are feeling, there are things that do not work well with diabetes. I myself will be 25 in October and have been D for 17 yrs 18 in October. I myself dont have any complications related to D, but every one is different. I just recently started the omnipod pump (my first pump) and my life has been so much better. My A1C went from 9.1 to 6.0 amazing I know and unbelievable maybe if you get a pump your life will be better too. I do believe the only reason to my controll is my pump and I do still have bad days but we must work through every day.
I myself dont have any children yet but I so cant wait to have some. My boyfriend has many many nephews and nieces(large family) that I could consider my children so I know how they keep you on your feet.
If you cant make it to our get together this week you can always keep in touch with me and we could always get together another time. I could bring my boyfriends nieces, ( age 3 and 5) If you wanted to bring your daughter. I have never been able to meet other diabetic besides my younger brother. And I really look forward to meeting others. Feel better and get well soon. Try your hardest ever day because every day is different...

I noticed you where in the area....

Ahmad and I will be having a get together this Friday night at 6pm we would love if you could join us...

Pitchers Lounge10800 Metcalf Ave, (Overland Park Marriott Hotel), Overland Park, KS
This popular, inexpensive restaurant is a sports lover's heaven. Locals find it a great place to get together, have a drink, enjoy a meal and unwind. Located in the Overland Park Marriott, just 20 minutes from downtown, it is worth a short drive for the sporty atmosphere and good food.
Diners can choose from an array of menu items, including pizza, salads, burgers, ribs, steak sandwiches and grilled chicken sandwiches. For those with an appetite, Key Lime Pie, apple cobbler and sundaes top off the meal.

hope to see you there..

Hello Lesley, I just joined and was wandering through the profiles being amazed at the diversity of the members when I saw your profile. I know KC has more than a few diabetics, but found it ironic to find another Kansas Citian so quickly. I very much hope you find what you are looking for here. All the best!
