Super_sally said… Hi Lila.
I was very lucky with my newest baby. As soon as she stopped screaming (which took a long time), she latched immediately and pretty much likes to be attached a lot of the time.
Considering you've got your daughter to latch now, you can begin to experiment. I am 'lucky' that I am well endowed. Makes almost any position doable. One I really like is side lying on the bed. Baby and I both are on our side tummy to tummy and she will latch onto the lower side boob. As we are both well supported by the bed, this could be the position to try.
You can also stop offering her the bottle first when you feed her. Although don't let her get so hungry before you feed that she is upset - she may be too frustrated to cooperate. But only give it if she still seems hungry after bf directly. Their instinct is to feed. Don't worry if she seems to play a bit or come on and off. Just relax and take your time.
Also try semilying, with baby accross your tummy. Let her play and experiment.
You are really my hero! Pumping for 7 months so many times a day! Super job! I pump generally 2-3 times a day and feed baby in between, but particularly at night we just directly feed.
LaGuitariste said… Thanks for the thought. Very kind. Per my co-pays, you'll be throwing $63 in the trash, which is a darn shame when there are people in the world with no insulin. Very sad, but what else can you do? Unless I know someone very well personally (e.g. my sister, who is a nurse) I would never never feel comfortable taking even one pill of their medication. The risk is too great...which is a shame, eh?
