I started with my pod in mid-October. My shoulder surgery was 2 weeks later. I am SOOOOO glad I had it! You'll catch on quickly and the doc's will listen to you. Go for it!

I think the glucagon kit I have expired in 1997. I think it's in my hall closet... :o) I know, I should take care of that. However, I've only had one scare in my life and with the OmniPod I'm much more on top of my levels. Other than that, I'm a w...

I just (30 minutes ago) downloaded and noticed the same thing! I think it has to go through midnight before it recognizes it. I'm one of those people that like instant feedback... guess I'll just learn some patience. Welcome to the family! You're...

John, thanks so much for sharing this. I'm saving this article. I'm already on the OmniPod and I'm doing well. But I'm also going back to school pursuing an RN degree just to get my CDE. Great article. Thanks again.

Linda -

I am doing research on OmniPod. I have a Deltec and was informed I need to select a new pump. I am interest in how Insulet handles IOB. You said you had a work around that works for you.

If you done mind I would like to hear about it. I really only one concern and that is number of Pod failures and interest in adjust to how it manages BOB and IOB.

Thank you for your input,

michael

Hi Linda! No connection with you in awhile...just wanted to say HI and how is everything. Coming to the end of 3 mos on the OmniPod. Still need to do some adjustments on my basal...trainer suggested 3 nite of testing to see where adjusting needs to be done. I received the newer generation PDM and am enjoying it. Am looking for a CDE in the area...closet being at U of M Hospital. Hard to get in to see and set up appt., but I keep plugging away! Really hope everything is good for you!

I received my OmniPod today! I am waiting to hear about setting up a training session. Hope your offer of answering questions still holds. Unfortunately I have lost your e-mail and phone number!

Linda I received some pictures of what another "podder" carries with them. This person had two meters in her bag besides the one on the PDM...also was on Bernards site and saw several different meters in pictures he has posted. I can see the need for one back up....I may call you...I am on the fence because my Dr. is not familar with the OmniPod. What all comes in the kit? Is it easy to set up? Does the company offer training?

Hi Linda! Thanks for the invite! I am waiting to hear if and when I will receive the OmniPod Starter Set. I am hoping there is someone in the area (South Lyon) or near my Dr.(Saginaw, MI) who can train me on the pod. Things seem to have changed since I last wore a pump....testing 10 times a day? Why so many different meters? Looks like some people have 4 or 5 meters...how do you afford the strips?
Some times I feel like the only person in the world who has Type 1...even at the library where I work we have lots of books on Type 2 and how to control it...not too many on Type 1.

Doesn't look like there's much interest in the Denver meetup. Sorry for the slow response. We were off the grid for nearly a week with this last storm an then I was in Vegas for a trade show. Enjoy Mazatlan. I was there for my honeymoon 11 years ago...interesting place!

Thanks for the add, Linda. I agree we should try to get a Denver area T1 get-together going...maybe a Rockies game this summer? It would be a good opportunity to compare notes on endos, etc. I'm also interested in connecting with other local pod users. Enjoy the great weather!

Tony
