It didn't help that start times were late due to their issues with the timing chips. Oh well- doing both is an incredibly admirable goal. I give you points for spending an entire weekend doing athletic feats to raise money for diabetes. I just bou...

Hi Lindsey, thanks for the info about Sunday. I am type 2 and new to this so I wasn't sure who this event was geared towards or even open to. It sounds like a very specific type 1 event. I appreciate knowing about it and will keep my ears and eyes open to other events.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my questions on the TYpe 1 forum. They were very helpful and I shared some of the results with my classmates in my group. I also gave them the link to the entire survey.

Thank you again!

Linday,
It is hard making sure they both get equal atention, but I try really hard, and I think Gray is fine with not getting attention if it involes a shot!
I didn't realize you were DX so recently... how are you doing overall?
I am going to show your page to my twins, it's so good for them to see other people dealing with this, and then if it happns to be twins, it helps them identify with it even more.
Thanks for your kind words, and keep up the fight!

Med school with diabetes is usually not a problem. But neither can you make it a problem. Since you know what you have to do in school you just have to get it done, whether or not your bs is high or low.

I too hope that med school is in your future. How do you like Seattle U? They definitely asked me about my diabetes in my interview. I got to say though that my personal statement was centered around my diabetes, so it was no surprise that they asked about it. The funny thing about the interview at UW was they used to have this weird thing about offering interviewees cookies. And depending on which cookie you chose they made some sort of decision about you. Well they offered me a cookie right after we just got done talking about my diabetes. I was like, "um....I don't think so. I'm a diabetic." They looked surprised and then said oh yeah. Haha...weird.
