I go to Dr. Rosenblit currently. He's good. His office doesn't look like a high end office you'd think would be in Huntington Beach. But if you don't mind the little things, he's pretty good. He's the only endo that I've seen, so I really don't ha...

Would you numbers be lower if you ate your meal and had no exercise class? I am coming to realize that I need atleast 4 units when I play softball. Different activities make my bg levels respond differently.

I use a restaraunt app on my iPhone to find out the carbs (for most fast food chains), add all them up and then calculate either in my head or on paper the carb to insulin amount. Great pocket sized reference book with tons of carb info is calorie...

I'm in the same boat (deciding if I should do a pump or just stay with injections). I really don't mind doing the injections - so I was thinking maybe a CGM (dexcom 7 plus) would be better for now. I get lows periodically and when I'm at home with...

That watch sounds pretty cool. I just got my med. ID bracelet not that long ago - cause at the moment, something is better than nothing. ;-) I have a card in my purse that came with the bracelet that has all the meds/medical info, phone numbers (r...

Wow! 5.8! That's amazing!! I'm looking at getting a CGM or a pump and my friend who use to be a pump sales rep said I'd gain weight cause now I could basically eat anything anytime. But if you keep to a strict regimine of food and exercise you sho...

Ahh. This is another good reason to get a cgm. Right now I'm up and cruising around Twitter and tudiabetes yrying to fall back asleep after correcting a low that woke me up. Good times. I want to try it out for like a week and see how it goes. :-)

I love pizza! Bummer I know... I do injections (fairly new to the diabetes game)... For me, I go to the pizza place's website and look up their nutritional facts to find the carb amount or check out Calorie King's book (great resource) Then inject...

I have tried both systems you mention and think you can't go wrong. I love my Navigator though. I've been wearing it daily since November. The selling points for me were the ridiculous range (I can be rooms away and it picks me up), the shorter se...

You will love the DexCom if you get it. It isn't 100% accurate but heck if you have hypo unawareness like I do, anything is helpful! Any CGMS you get has its pros and cons but all in all is worth the trouble!

Definitely carb counting. And on the pump, which I am a big fan of. I guess for me, I am constantly tweaking the amounts, systems, strategies, etc in order to deal with the many variables that my life throws at my disease and visa-versa (athletics, eating out, eating often, etc.)

Looking into getting a CGM

Good morning!!

So, I'm looking into the possibility of getting a CGM. I don't mind giving myself injections, but I would like to be able to have something alert me when I'm going too low or too high. I was recommended the Dexcom 7 or the Navigator. I am *totally* new to any type of diabetic equipment - let alone the disease. ;-) I was use to seeing my mom test and give herself shots, so I was ok with doing that when I was diagnosed with T1. However, now that I have a toddler and we are alone fo… Continue

ID Bracelet!

ACK! So I totally forgot to post when I got my bracelet. I got it about a week or so ago, and it looks great!! Totally happy with it. However, as I go along in my week - I realized that I should have gotten a "sporty" one as well. I play slow pitch on sunday nights and as I'm doing chores, etc I feel like i'm going to tarnish, scratch or whatever to the bracelet. I know it's made to handle that kind of stuff... but still. I don't like playing with jewelry on anyway - so if it's in a cloth type b… Continue

Fell off the water train

Hi guys,

So about a month ago I told myself that I would drink *at least* 4 cups of water a day. I was doing really good for about a week... then I don't know what happend.... we might have ran low on water at home... don't know... but I fell off the water train.
Alright, so what am I going to do now? Get back on it! I put my water bottle in the freezer tonight, so I got a nice and cold fresh bottle of water in the morning.
I felt so much better when I was drinking all the water. I know my body… Continue

Medical ID Bracelet

Hey there!

I'm looking into getting a medical ID bracelet. Is there anything that you guys suggest that I should put on my ID? Such as: Name, Type 1 Diabetes, Meds, Phone number to call, etc?

I wanted to get one for my birthday.. but that's already passed, and I don't want to wait much longer and go without having some kind of alert charm on me.
Trying not to go for the "whoah you have a problem - at all times" bracelet, but one that says "somethings wrong with her now, and check it out, she h… Continue
