I've taken it after a meal...it doesn't make you sick...it just isn't really effective because of the way it works in your system. But when I did it after a meal, I have a snack about 1/2 hr to an hr later, and then my sugars go down.

Doing everything I can

Six years ago, I told my endocrinologist, "yeah ok"... to all his directives regarding my new T2 diagnosis. After all, I was seeing him for Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and was more concerned with THAT condition. I kind of "poo-pooed" the T2 dx. I took the glucophage, but really wasn't consistent with exercise, low carb diet, or monitoring my BG levels.
Instead of weight coming off, The weight would come on, and not BUDGE when I attempted to step things up a few notches. After reaching my highest ev… Continue

Little kids with diabetes are amazing to me and have such courage. When I was 8 and diagnosed I think it might have been easier as tight control was not even known about. I had one shot in the a.m. and went about my day, snacking and eating my meals and went totally by how I felt, easier, but I am sure I was high most of the day, oooo and ended up in the ER too many times, my poor parents. Well anyway Chicago is beautiful, I live in a suburb. My husband was in CA last week and this week he is in GA, poor guy. Weather today here was to die for, humdity has left us and it was low 80's all day, did your husband tell you that??!! :)

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for the good wishes. You have certainly been through the mill. I have to smile about the shared experiences of visitors. But today I spent a good amount of time laughing with one of my grandsons. He just loves Chuck Norris and brought his new Chuck Norris book over to read to me. This was the funniest thing I have heard for a long time. The house was full but everyone came to see what was going on. I will have to find out the true name of this book. It is worth buying for the laughter. It was so nice to see everyone and the kids. I am tired and will go to bed early, but I feel stronger and am no longer afraid. I have received so much caring and support from so many people and have met new ones like you. I truly appreciate the friendship and sharing and support Our family here means so much to me. I am so glad you are part of us and my new friend.
Blessings be to you
