No Sugar????

At work I'm currently training someone who has taken interest in me having diabetes. She asks what I am doing all the time, etc. which doesn't bother me but then she tries to tell me what to do to make my diabetes better...

One of my pet peeves is when people who don't have diabetes or a close family member who does and they try to tell me how to manage my diabetes.

Don't get me wrong I am not bothered by someone who asked if I can eat something or not. It's more when people ask…

I'm home sick again. I've been sick since my last blog post I think it's been about 2 weeks...

My low problem has been better. My dr. changed my basal rate by .05 and its made a huge difference. Thanks for all of your inputs though :).

My dr. at the last visit also recommended that I get a CGMS. I had the seven plus about three or four years ago and I really didn't like it. Not because its bad, but all the beeping etc. drove me crazy. Also, I have an Omnipod so in my purse I'm…

I haven't written a lot, but I really think I should get more active here.
Lately, I have been having crazy lows-
37,63,59,62,57,51,60,42,54
All since Thursday!!!!
I've been doing better, my diabetes has been more controlled now than ever in my life but sometimes I just get frustrated. I'm home sick from work today because I just dont have any energy left. Does having frequent lows make anyone else extremely tired?? Just wondering...

I used pens for many years before pumping. Very handy. You may want to look at timing. Try taking insulin 20 mins before eating instead of just before. If you're not sure of carb content, take a half dose 20 mins before and then the rest when the food arrives. That can really help reduce after meal highs.
