I hate this time of year

Potlucks. Potlucks. More potlucks.

What's in that casserole? Looks like a lot of this and that and everything else. "Dig in," they say. "Aren't you hungry?" Well, yeah, I am. But that casserole you're foisting on me gives not a clue as to what's in it. And, am I to poll all the party attendees to find out who made what, and ask for the recipe?

My solution? Avoidance. What's yours?

Hey, another drummer! Excellent!! How long have you played? Are you in a band, and what kind of set do you have?

I'll be traveling to Seattle, WA in the coming week from California with very little money and I'm not too familiar with Washington. I'm trying to find free or cheap places to sleep. Does anyone want to make some new friends? Could you let us couch surf? Me and my husband are very open minded, friendly, fun. We will be forever grateful. We are leaving on the greyhound bus on December 2nd. I've been a type 1 diabetic since I was 9 years old..taking lots of insulin along with me. I'm also learning to play drums! Also, any recommendations on places we should visit? Thanks

Etta - Just read your response to "How Many Carbs Do You Eat ...". You wrote exactly what I was thinking as I went thru' some of the thread of the discussion. We are all different! BTW, I'm a Type 1 diabetic of 42 years, and I'm hoping to one day be part of Dr. Faustmans Research guinea pigs! Anything to help in figuring out how to stop diabetes - I'll be a part of!
Take care - and stay healthy!

Hi Etta,
My endo is Dr K. Gross at the Polyclinic on Broadway. He was previously at VMMC but left about two years ago. I have been very pleased working with him and the support he gives.
I have also been a part of the original DCCT study and the continuing follow-up study EDIC. I have occassionally met with Dr Hirsch at UW but my main Dr is Dr Gross.

Thanks for passing on the Dr. F virtual hug. I've seen interviews. What an incredible woman!. She's charming & delightful, in addition to her brains & conviction.

Glad you didn't tell anyone I wrote it. Don't want to be a plagiarizer:)

Agree with you about Dr. Faustman. She's a pure scientist & certainly not involved for money, though I hope fame & fortune are hers for her efforts. She'd get my vote for a Nobel Prize. What's so exciting & hopeful is that it is an existing, safe & tested drug. My comments & others in that discussion were directed at those who don't want a cure to keep us as cash cows.

Wish I could meet Dr. F to hug her for her work.

Thanks for the friend invite.

I didn't write the Dr. Faustman summary. It was a cut & paste from diabetesincontrol.com & I surrounded it with quotation marks:)
