I'm looking into the same thing and having the same problem. I want something small (because it will be on my wrist) but at the same time it has to be legible. I just can't stand wearing my bracelet anymore! I will try to attach a pic of what I am...

Ok, so I have 1 tattoo on my ankle. I want to get a medical alert one, but I want it to be small since it is going to be on my wrist. I would also like it to be unique. Any ideas?

If you have tattoos, or simply admire others' ink, this is your home! If you've ever had people say, "Tattoos? But you're diabetic!", come on in! Share artists, responsible studios, locales... A place to share your ink (keep it tasteful, kiddies!)

hi I fraduated from FCHS in 89. Do you mind me asking who your parents are? I developed diabetes when I was 3 years old and was on shots till 98 when I went on the insulin pump. My last A1C (9.4) was not good due to my own failures. I am willing to admit I have not done what I am suppose to be doing. But this is an event I battle about every 7-8 years. I am determined to work on it and get it back down, for myself and my family.

Ten pounds eh?...Ouch! Were you put on insulin?
Au revoir!

I'm originally from Quebec...and one of my sisters now resides in Montreal!
Does working for Dorel call for you to communicate in French at any time??

I teach, so for the better part, I can keep a stash in my room and snack upon need; but staff meetings are usually at 4:00 pm, thus running pretty close to dinner time. Must attend, therefore must snack, and snacking so close to dinner is always a problem....but can you do!!
Also problematic, in the past I've had to be involved in overnight camping (with long hikes), ski trips and other strenuous activities...and often dipping dangerously low. This coming school year, I will be teaching French as part of my repertoire...thus not giving me the flexibility to partake in those activities (woo hoo!!!), as well, this new schedule frees me (finally) from yard duty (WOO HOO!!)...no more freezing my but in FRIGID February weather when no normal person would be outdoors. I would stand out there so bundled up, you could have taken me for the Michelin tire man!! (I also suffer from Raynaud...making my fingers turn literally blue...and I could NOT keep warm, no matter how many layers I wore.) Testing in the classroom isn't a problem...some of the children are not even aware!
My grades for French are 1, 2 and 4...2 classes for each grade. Someone else teaches grade 3, due to scheduling. For English, it's grades 4 and 5, again 2 classes per grade. I also coordinate/facilitate a French club at school, for grades 3 to 6. I'm in a Montessori school.

So sorry to hear things are not going well Lori. It's discouraging to hear about your doc....there are many of the same out there!
Best wishes...please let me know how it all turns out, OK?
My father and grandmother were insulin dependent as well!

Hey - thanks for all the welcome messages. I am still trying to get this thing under control. My primary physician doesn't listen well, so I am going to the specialist that my Dad uses. Hopefully my results will improve. Nothing like having and A1c of 7.0, starting medication and then 3 month later being at 7.3!
