I was just put on Coumadin in June because they found a blood clot on my lung. They keep changing my dosage too. My hematologist said the clot will dissolve. The Coumodin is to prevent other blood clots from forming.…"

Hi, I'm Lori. I'm 35 yrs. old and I've been married to my husband Kevin for 12 yrs. We don't have any children but I will be getting my service dog Omar at the end of January, 2009. He's a yello lab and I'm sure he will bring alot to my life. I'm a Physically Disabled Big Beautiful Woman. I was born with a blood & bone disease called Thrombocytopenia and Absent Radius Syndrome aka TAR Syndrome. Update On Me!

Hello All,
I've been doing ok but was having some health issues the past couple of months. I couldn't get rid of this bad UTI that put me in the hospital 3 times. On my third hospital stay, a pulminary embolism (blood clot) was found on my lung during a CT Scan. I'm now on Coumodin (blood thinner) for at least 6 months to get rid of it. I have to get blood draws frequently to make sure my level is stable. During that time my diabetes was reaking havoc but I knew it was due to the bad… Continue

I've had to deal with that a couple of times, and remember going for blood work every 3rd day. This before I was married, so 31 years ago, and before diabetes. I remember once waiting for my bus to go home after a blood test, and feeling my arm prickle, looking down to see a stream of blood....nearly fainted lol.
My brother has had thrombocytopenia, and I have, during the course of this year, had some unexplained bruising, one on an eyelid (the doc I saw at the time dismissed it as a rash...but it wasn't, it was a bruise...I sort of know the difference for crying out loud!!) also another bruise later on my upper arm, and then one inside my lower arm (and fatigue, but that's likely due to diabetes!). I went for a hemoglobin count, and apparently all is fine, but I wondered if the blood count can fluctuate at times (much like BG) and show as normal on occasion? As well, I also have Raynaud...are these 2 related do you think??
Wanted to say that I can truly relate to having God in my life. If it were not for my faith, I don't know WHERE I'd be right now!
