Emotional Down

I would love to hear how parents of T1D help their child get through the emotional low of "not wanting this anymore". My 11 year old daughter, was diagnosed in July of 2010 and was a very fast learner. She caught on very quick with all the carb counting, testing, and shots. We got her the Animas Ping 2020 in October, and she is doing great with that. The doctors say she is doing great with managing her numbers. However, now she is trying to accept the emotional part of it and having a difficult… Continue

Hi there,
I'm a type 1 mom in Santa Rosa and would be honored to meet your daughter, if she feels like she'd like to talk with someone who's managing well with diabetes. I've had type 1 for 20 years and actually tell people I feel lucky to have a condition that is not only treatable, but responds well to my "control freak" personality!

If you ever feel like chatting or meeting, please let me know. I'm a fused glass artist living in Bennett Valley so my schedule can be fairly flexible.
