Missing the CGM

Posted on February 23, 2008 at 7:34am 3 Comments

Ok, so after the 3rd day with the cgm Alexis took a shower and the tape was all bunched up and I decide to take it out instead of trying for another 3 days with the same one. Our trainer came over and downloaded all the info. We were able to see Alexis' trends and saw that the basal is working perfectly at .95 units her carb ratio is 1:14 which is working wonderfully for lunch and dinner but not doing anything for her at breakfast. So we changed her breakfast ratio 1:12 but will probably end up… Continue

About Me

Hi, my name is Lovenny, I'm a 34 yr old mother of 3. Danny 12, Alexis & Kristin 11. Alexis was diagnosed with T1 August 8th, 2007. She's been on the Minimed 722 for about a week now and has been on the cgm for about 2 days. So far so good with both. I'm in the technial field for a large law firm which I've been with for the past 7 years. I love the ocean & enjoy dancing : )

The training took about 2 1/2 hours (we had completed the pump school training last night) so the the training went pretty smooth. Alexis inserted the site herself using the Quick-serter. According to her, she didn't even feel it. She currently is using the 23" (60 cm) tubing with 6 mm cannula but the trainer suggested we switch to the 9mm one. The… Continue

Wow! February has been a busy month for all of you.

Did you see the two announcements this week? The FreeStyle Navigator CGM has been approved AND they're starting trials (very early stage ones) for a possible type 1 cure.

I posted on both of these yesterday:

Hello. My daughter was recently dx in June 2007. She is three and I look forward to going to the pump when she gets a little older. Judging by your pictures, it looks like you have a very supportive and fun family. Best Wishes!
