How I ended in Tromsø (North Norway) is a very long history. But mainly everything started when I studied in Germany Medical Informatics, since then I have been very motivated to work in eHealth, especially in research. I think it is very interesting and the future. And also a key issue for moving abroad is that I really enjoy meeting people from different countries and challenges. Also my girlfriend is suomalainen  .
Tromsø is famous for all the research that we have in eHealth, I think we have the biggest research community in eHealth in Europe. I am working in the Tromsø Telemedicine Laboratory (www.telemed.no/ttl), which is a huge project with different partners. In TTL there are many subprojects, with very different topics (e.g. detection of epidemics, telerehabilitation, diabetes, etc.).

I am working in the subproject called MyHealthService, http://myhealthservice.itek.norut.no . In this project we are creating new eHealth services in patients with COPD (we have also worked with diabetics). For example, we have a service of live tele-rehabilitation where the patients get the rehabilitation session (individual and in groups) in their TV, also we have educational services, telemonitoring, etc.

In my PhD project I am working in health education, how to deliver personalised health educational resources to the patients. The idea is similar to the "smart" recommendations of books when you are logged in Amazon. It is the same concept but the "smart" recommendations are based on the health of the patients (mainly stored in a Personal Health Record) and the recommendations are education resources.
