Hi ! We live in Sweden and here we´ve had "exra personell" in school och at daycare. Not everywhere in Sweden u get this and we struggled hard to get it. One and the same has the resposibility to check Gabriel and help him out. Gabriel is extremly sensitive to both insulin av carbohydrates and he does not feel his highs or lows - starts to get the hang of it sometimes but not always. He menages his pump himself and check his bloodglucose but he doesnt want to change infusionsets himself as yet....

Shooldays work just fine here, we are very happy with that extra personell he has with him at school. We tought her everything we know avbout diabetes ourselves and G has his mobil phone with him if they want to call for "back up" from me if his idabetes at times does not function as it usually does. This does not mean that Gabriel always has a stabil bloodglucose, but i think that it mostly is as good as it can get.His hba1c lies constantly at 5,8 - 6,2 mmol. I think one has to be realistic about diabetes as well and say that it´s reasonble to have a hba1c like that.

Inbox me if you want to, i think we could have a thing or two to discuss since we both live in scandinavia...do you know swedish? I dont know finnish, im afraid...

It is good to see that you are joining in, we hope you really enjoy our company. I hope your little boy gains much wisdom from us, I was a little older when I was diagnosed.
