MaiaJane,

Saw your post over on the "Traveling w/D" group.

Does your "supplier" offer a vacation override? My insurance only allows me to fill via a mail-order pharmacy that will only provide me with a 90-day supply, unless I can convince them I am going on vacation. In the past, this has meant they want to see my travel itinerary.

I also found that I had to be extremely persistent and insistent that I be allowed to speak with a "supervisor" and to be sure and take names, dates and details of the call.

Best,
Mike

Hi Maia, I guess I'm just commenting to say hi idk I saw that you were dignosted about a month before me and we are both the same age that really stuck out to me. I'm 18 and was also dignosted when I was 17. So how has life been since you were dignosted I see you use the OmniPod do you like it? I just started using the minimed insulin pump about 5 months ago and I love it, WAY better than using the pen. Well hope to hear back from you soon

Thank you Maia. It has been really scary the past couple of days trying to balance everything with Diabetes against school work, making friends, etc. Not to mention trying to be discrete about having diabetes during meals in the cafeteria.
What did you do to manage stress when finals and mid terms came about?
Thanks!

Good luck with the insurance! I have to keep on top of mine so they don't screw me over.

Sorry to hear about the shoulder. Did you injure it in one of those high impact summer water sports?

Hi, have you desided if you're getting the Dex?

Insurance

I need to vent a little.

So the insurance thing is hard to explain. It's more what they didn't tell me that was problematic.

They never told me when claims were denied, they never told my providers either (who just kept re-billing and re-billing because they didn't know what was wrong)

They never told me when my policy maximum was reached, and couldn't explain my policy maximums to me when I asked about them.

They never told me, in our 5 hours of conversation, that my… Continue
