REgarding Aetna PPO cgm coverage. i have been approved for the receiver and sensors...they gave me 6 refills approved at 90%---the aetna bargained price for me,my out of pocket expense, for 4 sensors...$28. in Feb 09 they will reevaluate.
Being Hypo-unaware is the magic ticket. You have to get your dr to write a letter explaining the complexities of your case. I think wide fulctuations in BS is also a possiblity to get covered under.
I advise, continuing your appeal, but also, contact Aetna Pre-Auth Department. They are the ones that approve for future purchases and send the info to DEX or MM. Then you never pay in full up front.
