Hi ,

You may have noticed TuD hanging around the site. It's his 6th birthday this month, and his big international family of people with diabetes is growing. Our 6th birthday fundraising campaign is on! Every dollar you donate allows TuDiabetes to reach 6 people touched by diabetes, giving them the opportunity to not be alone!

Please consider making a donation, as well as asking your friends and family to give what they can. TuD's birthday party will keep getting more guests as we raise more donations (see top of the home page). Let's help keep our family thriving and growing! Please share this message. Thanks!

The aquapac may work for you. Search around this site and I found a picture of a girl jumping into a pool with it. The pros are that you will not have to disconnect and you can monitor your pump through the see through plastic and the aquapac is well made and constant connection to CGM. Cons are it is a bit awkward or bulky, I felt odd wearing it, some claim decreased basal rates (I never noticed it) and if the clip moves then you may get water in the aquapac. I like my aquapac for activities like canoeing.

My understanding is still a bit different and hope I got this correct ??? is the basal rate( s ) ( 24 hours ) , pages 56 , 57 in the Veo User Guide / which can be set in decimals for instance my 12 am rate is : 0.5500 , another example 5 am : 0.625...basal rates can be incremented by 0.025 .Could this be what Endo is referring to ???? Pumping and basal rates of the secrets to our struggles :) ...

When you are ready maybe you can ASK your Team to fit you with a ...I know a person , not a pumper ,yes MDI who was fitted with one !

ah, ha ...maybe I misunderstood the lingo ?? for example : a carb ratio 1:22 decimals ,i unit of insulin for 22 grams of carbohydrates ...with the bolus wizard ( MM ...only the Veo model av. in Canada presently ) equals `1.1 unit ...this is where the decimal comes in ...for most of us very useful as you have too indicated !

At 11:12am on October 22, 2012, nel said…

I noticed you posting a question re the Accu-Check ...I looked at my MM bolus Wizard set up and carb ratio's are round numbers , the correction factor( insulin sensitivity ) are carb ratio divided by 5 equals a number usually with a decimal ratio 17 divide by 5 = 3.4 ...I located this website for the Accu-chek ...pages 103 etc. ???
