Go to http://www.dandtheguy.com to read his latest blog about the length of time the transmitters can last: "Yesterday I received a letter from Medtronic, informing me of a new approval after some recent changes to their CGMS products. Medtronic h...

Jacky, I'm so glad you're having such great results with your new CGMS. But yep, you may be in that "sweet spot" and not able to hold that 24/7 - remember the "Honeymoon Period" when you first went on insulin?! I've never had any success with the...

Well ya'll, I must have been smoking something when I fired off that message that my sensor had lasted 14 days! I can only get 7 days before it alarms with weak signal, then lost sensor. But by the 7th day, the insertion site is itchy and irritate...

Minimed told me that I needed to recharge the battery for 7 hours for best results after I had some problems with weak signals. Is this anyone's experience?

If you have been in good control, 80 might feel like 40 because you are NOT insulin resistant (not feeling even the 40s). Just do the Rule of 15: have 15 carbs, check in 15 minutes, then repeat if necessary.

It's good to see everyone is having good results. I have the MM722+CGMS and things have been just great for me. 8 days is the best I've gotten so far. Leading up to the end of day 8, my results where just getting too bad. I have learned that prope...

You should be able to get the sensor life you hope for with the Dexcom. I started using the 7+ on September 4. I got 8 days on the first sensor, 16 days on the second, and I'm on day 6 of the third sensor. I bought a product called Skin-Tac that ...

I am amazed at the length of time everyone can get out of their sensors! I always get better accuracy through day 4-6 but never have tried to go any further. I'm afraid of infection but it doesn't seem like anybody is experiencing that. I'm going ...

I saw your horse pictures and had to stop by and say how beautiful they are! I've been riding off and on since I was little. Haven't been able to in the last year much and miss it terribly. Spent a week last summer riding and camping in New Mexico, but since I'm still in school it's hard to find time. Hope you are having a good week! Oh there is also a horse group on here ... http://tudiabetes.com/group/horselovingdiabetics

Good Morning Margaret, I know Mimosa Grill well. They have been customers for a long time. I used to know Tom Sasser when I was making regular deliveries to Mimosa. Have not seen him in a while though. Judges BBQ! My mouth waters thinking about it.
Have a great day. Sam

Hi Margaret, I work for a bakery(sales) so I never make bread. But I have in the past and yes I made bread with beer. It was very good. I also used to work for a brewery. One of the worst jobs I ever had because one of my duties was emptying and cleaning kegs for refills. It never failed to amaze me the number of 3/4 full kegs being returned, which I had to empty down the drain...sooo sad. Now we always have good fresh bread in the house. Of course there is always beer in the house too. Fluid bread, yes?
I do know Morganton well. Haven't been up that way in a while, but do remember a great barbeque place on the river.
p.s. I love your quilt photos. We have one that my grandmother made and one that my mother made. They are on the bed whenever the weather gets cool and the absolute best way to get warm.
