Thanks for the thought regarding helping me set up my bird feeders. I just have to try to convince a neighbor to help me. Sometimes he offers to help me with things, other times not. Anyway, eventually I will get them set back up.

Unfortunately, left out the lawn furniture over the winter, and they have fallen apart now, so... not much real use for me to put up the feeders, except that I expect the birds are just waiting, they have been fed by me for the past 10 years or so... lots and lots of bird seed, and lots of Thistle seed for the Goldfinches... they are so beautiful, especially when there are 10 or 12 of them flitting back and forth from the crab apple tree and the thistle feeder they love so much.

Marie-So sorry to hear about Reed's fall and broken hip. I hope he heals properly, considering his age. I will pray for him and keep him in my thoughts. That was very nice of Tom to keep us informed. I will, of course, send him a card. Hope you are doing OK. Have a good week. Cat

Well in my parents youth and when I was young. Few had alarm clocks. So they paid the 'Knocker Upper', might be a penny a week. He walked down all the streets (Every Knocker Upper) had their own area!! The carried a 12' pole with a small leather pad (home assembled) and tapped on folks bedroom windows between 5 and 7 am to wake them!
Our house was 3 floors above the street and he could only reach 1st floor. (it was a long road with a hundred families in it!So first family up shouted to the next floor and then the next ha ha! Things were very sociable in those days. We had to learn from childhood no matter what went on we never heard the neighbours!! except for wake up calls :-)

We also had the 'Lamp Lighter' who rode a bicycle and carried a 9' pole and switched on/off the streets gas lights!
The milk man pushed his milk cart until he could afford a horse. Fresh mild daily to the door. Children all got 1/2 pint milk free in school every day!
No one had a garage so the street was where we made roller skate from old roller bearings and bits of wood and string. Go Carts from fruit boxex, discarded lumber, nails and baby carriage wheels and axels! The roads we our playground! Life was simpler then! WE also used our voices and hand writing to communicate hahaha! Now guess which 14 year old lad is me?

Hi Mary. I think I see a photo of you here (They are looking at me!!) :-9

It didn't open, hope you can do it Marie. I'm coping ok I guess. Lost another 16 Lbs though I dont feel it!
How are things now, and so sorry I have been distracted dear but I'm safely through my 69th birthday, and spring is her.
My melon seeds have already sprouting Labellia and Allisum in the pots, (I now live in a Pent,)
You would love it here. The knife sharpener man has just gone by on the street playing his Pan Pipes to let us know he is here. So quaint, so lovely. Just like London when I was a kid, we had a lamp lighter to and a knocker upper. Did you ever hear of them? :-)

Marin..I think they screwed up. These portables are 5 feet tall and on wheels. They would have to go in back seat. I have seen portables that people carry on them.LINCARE coming Friday and, hopefully,we can get this fixed. HUGS,Reed

He has to sleep with it. I had a terrible night. Up all night. Why? I do not know. Went back at 5 and slept until 10. TOPS tomorrow. I do not have the Program. I do not think Russ will like this at all. How are things with you? Give my best to Ed. HUGS,Reed
