When I was on MDI I used long needles. It was suggested by the my CDE due to the volume of Lantus I was taking and felt that my absorbtion (sp) would be much better."

I used long needles for over 35 years. I changed to shorts 15 years ago so I could hit different spots without breaking in new territory. Worked really well for me.
