David G. said… - (keep quiet) In 52 years there has been a couple events to forget. The scariest one of a low blood sugar . Left the place that I was working at and an hour later I woke up driving around in a farmers field 80 kilometers away from where I had started. Not a good feeling. No road maps or street signs to let me know where I was at.

FatCatAnna said… - Hi Marion - figured we long term diabetics should stick together . Sorry to hear about all your problems with Medtronics. I'm hoping when I need help with adjusting my insulin requirements on my pump I don't have too much problem (peri-menopause is causing some probs for me). I'm pretty well self taught on the pump, as I had no english speaking diabetic educator here where I live in Canada (my endo didn't want me going on one). So, I've had to learn to take care of myself, even prior to pumps, as I find medical folks I see know next to nothing about diabetes. I just have had to learn to educate myself over the years, be my own guinea pig (next life I come back as a well fed one ). Anyway, hang in there. BTW, am coming out to FL next month - so if you hear of some freakish sailing accident (due to us never having sailed in the oceans with tides - tho' we've taken courses) - pray that we don't damage the boat we're chartering (tho' still not sure about doing this just with my hubby - we may strangle each other when we decide the other one is shouting out the wrong orders - doesn't pay to both be Captains of one ship ).
