Mark replied to Leata's discussion 'Sensor/Transmitter Through Security at Airports?' in the group Dexcom Users
"I have no experience at the airport, but I have to go through the metal detector at the court house quite often. Ever since I got the G4, I set the thing off EVERY time I go now. Not sure if it's the G4, my Omnipod or something else going on...…"

Mark replied to tranquility's discussion 'Best spot on back for Pod' in the group OmniPod Users
"I've been using my back for a couple months now. I always put the cannula the opposite way from what you describe - facing the 'love handle' area, not my spine. I've never had a problem doing it that way."

Mark replied to Mom 2 Kyle's discussion 'Update on my son's podding.' in the group OmniPod Users
"Glad everything is going well so far. No system is perfect and I'm sure there will be bumps in the road now and then. But anything that makes all of us feel more 'normal' is amazing:)"

Mark replied to Erik's discussion 'Current Users Are Important to Insulet (LOL)' in the group OmniPod Users
"Seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there, depending on who you talk to. I had put my auto-ship on hold back in January, because I had a surplus of pods save up. At that point I was told by Insulet CS that when I was ready for a shipment, if…"

Mark replied to Mom 2 Kyle's discussion 'Day 1 - OmniPod question ...' in the group OmniPod Users
"I would wait at least one more night. You don't want to make changes based on an isolated blip on the radar (I have been guilty of that many times:X). Wait and see if a pattern develops and then discuss it with the doctor, CDE or whoever set…"

Mark replied to Mom 2 Kyle's discussion 'It's here! It's here!' in the group OmniPod Users
"I had put my 'auto ship' on hold back in January because I had an excess of pods built up. Had about 2 weeks left and called Insulet this week. They still weren't shipping out the new ones to existing users yet. But was told even if I…"

Mark replied to David S's discussion 'Question about Uni-Solve' in the group OmniPod Users
"I use the individual wipes. Usually takes two to get the pod off and slightly cleaned up after removing it. But it's so much easier getting them off w/ the Unisolve."

Mark replied to Erik's discussion 'Next Gen OmniPod PR Video' in the group OmniPod Users
"Looks like it from what I've read. New customers will see it before people who have been on the Omnipod already."

Mark replied to cbaj43's discussion 'Pod users who also use dexcom cams' in the group OmniPod Users
"Been using the Omnipod and a Dexcom (first the 7 Plus and now the G4) for 2 years now. Can't imagine life without either one of them."

Mark replied to Tracy's discussion 'Are there any T1 happy with Omnipod?' in the group OmniPod Users
"I was diagnosed w/ T1 when I was 2 years old... back in 1965. I've seen a lot of changes as far as diabetes treatment goes. I started the Omnipod 2 years ago and I am very happy with the choice. I was up to 7 shots a day on MDI, so getting rid…"

Mark replied to Olivia Martin's discussion 'Have any U.S. users received the new PDM and Pods?' in the group OmniPod Users
"I stopped my regular 3 month shipment, since I had plenty saved up from wearing them the full 80 hours. Will just order a one month supply in a few weeks if I don't get a notice about the new pods."

Mark replied to Erik's discussion 'IT'S HERE!! Next-Generation OmniPod Insulin Pump Cleared by FDA' in the group OmniPod Users
"Really excited it's finally been approved. I just got my PDM replaced because it kept having problems communicating (had to put it right against the pod)... hopefully that won't impact getting switched over when the new ones are shipped."

Mark replied to metheniac's discussion 'Non-belt case for G4?' in the group Dexcom Users
"I was also very disappointed in the case. Can't believe they didn't make the case like the 7+, where you could look at it while it was on your belt. I don't want to have to completely unwrap the thing every time I need to look at it."

Mark replied to Lynn's discussion 'BlueCross Insurance declares DexCom "out of network"' in the group Dexcom Users
"I have Blue Cross and I also use Edgepark Medical for all my Dex supplies - as Blue Cross wouldn't fully cover directly from Dexcom. I've never had a problem with them. And I just got my new G4 today! Luckily I have an out of pocket each…"

Welcome home Mark!
Take a peek at some the groups when you get a chance. Just go to the top of your page, and click on "Groups". Once in, you can either peruse the wide array of available groups....or simply type a specific interest in the space provided. Take in some of the blogs/discussions as well. The house in the photo is where Dr. Frederick Banting lived and had his medical practice in London, Ontario, Canada...before going to the University of Toronto to work on diabetes research, and ultimately the discovery of Insulin.
