I'm learning how to keep the fat off right along with you. Frankly, I'm doing a horrible job at it now with being sick and eating not as well as I would like to. I had an old college teammate/buddy who played for the Cardinals a few years back and is now with the Seahawks. Good luck w/ the offseason workouts!

So nice to see you on here. My daughter was diagnosed Type 1 in Nov 2010. She plays field hockey & softball. Just made the varsity softball team as a 9th grader! We are really going to be working on how to keep her blood sugars steady while she plays. It's interesting to see that you use shots. Samantha really thinks she wants the pump, but I think it might be a pain while playing. I know you can take it off for an hour, but that wouldn't be long enough for a game. Have you ever tried the pump? Or just shots from the beginning?

I play many sports, and even though I'm diabetic I am always the one playing the hardest and ironically the least tired at the end of games. I grew up in LA rooting for UCLA, so to see a person from LA/UCLA going through the same thing I have to go on a daily basis is kind of comforting and helpful in a weird type of way. I just found out you were diabetic, never knew this till I saw your name on the side. Keep up the good work and I will defiantly keep my eye on you now.

Matt,
Thank you so much for the encouragement and telling me what your regimen is on game day. I'm running 5 miles a day in training now. Cramping and going hypo have been my problems. Definitely going to try that whole foods drink! Wish you were still in Philly, man.
