"My skin gets a little red when taking off a pod, but nothing like you're experiencing. One thing you could try is uni-solve adhesive remover. Just wipe the skin as you slowly pull back the adhesive. The pad you are talking about might be IV3000…"

"you should have medicare investigate him. Under the law, a doctor cannot prescribe a med that is not a generic unless he can prove a good reason. If he is not doing that he is screwing his patients and someone should report him."

omni pod removal

I love the omnipod. Not having to worry about wires, swimming, bathing, it is fantastic..until it is time to change it. The adhesive is so strong that it rips my skin off. I have to treat it with triple antibiotic and non stick pads just to tolerate it. I am talking ripping my skin off and bleeding..not just a little irritation. july 4th I had to sit with my hand down my pants to hold the material away from my sores so that it wouldnt hurt so bad...not to mention the incredible fool I felt like…See More

Maureen,
I just now got to my blog and seen what you said on it. I don't think thr Dr was trying to punish him maybe his control was better and as for you maybe your not bad enough to get the pump yet! Have you ask him/her about it?
Giving shots to yourself can get really depressing at times but the way I looked at it back when I had to do it was I had to do it to live and drive my husband crazy! That helpped me threw alot when I didn't want to do it. Always look ahead don't look back and that will help you too. ( Can't say I've been the best at that for the last 2 weeks but am trying again now) The way I look at my depression was it's OK to feel sorry for myself for awhile then it's time to look ahead again and looks like you're only 1/2 way there in age and have alot to look forward to yet!

Hi Maureen

I'm sending this note to all the TuDiabetes folks who live in Massachusetts. There's a pump group meeting in Woburn, MA this Saturday from 9:30 till noon. Someone from Dexcom will be giving a presentation on their technology. This is a friendly group and afterwards we're going nearby for a World Diabetes Day lunch.

If you'd like to come let me know and I'll send you directions. I do hope you can make it. Even if you just want to turn up for the lunch that would be great.
