Aloha Gang, I have really been wanting to do the JDRF walk this year, but I can't find anybody willing to do it with me and the kids (hubby has to work that day, so he is out). So, if you are on Oahu, please consider joining my team (Sugar Mamas)...

When your warranty is up and you are able to get a new one, you can pick whatever color you want. It's like starting fresh :) I still want a pink pump, but I have three more years until my warranty is up, so I am just sucking it up and dealing wit...

Maybe it is just me but I'd feel guilty about ripping the company off like this and everyone end up paying for it in some way in the long-run. But we are all different and what makes some people stop and think others wouldn't bat an eyelid i guess.

Hey! I'm doing good. We'll be here for about another 2 months and we should get together. The kids have gotten so big and I didn't even get to meet your daughter. I'm so glad that I found you on here!

Melinda, thanks so much for the info on your experience with pre-e. I've been trying to learn as much as possible about it since I'm at risk, given the length of time I've had T1. I can't believe they didn't deliver your daughter before 37 weeks! Thank goodness you are ok. I know that pre-e can be really dangerous so I am glad you're healthy now.
I'm going to add you as a friend so we can keep up with each other!! If you can think of any other pregnancy advice/info that you wish someone had told you, I would love to hear it!
Katie :)

Hey Melinda, thanks for the details about your experience laser treatment, etc., during pregnancy. I guess you just never know when eye issues will creep up on you, but I have definitely heard that pregnancy can aggravate it all. I've gotten my eyes checked once per trimester so far, and go in for my next check next week, for the third trimester. I am thinking I should also go in at about 6 mos after the baby comes (or maybe even less, depending on what my endo recommends) for another check. That's interesting that you didn't see any changes until well after your first pregnancy-- I will definitely keep that in mind.
If you don't mind me asking, could you let me know if you happened to have any experience with preeclampsia/high blood pressure during your pregnancies? My docs are keeping a really close eye on me for that, since I have had T1 for so long.
Anyway, thanks again for the info. It is so nice to be able to ask another T1 for pregnancy info, since you've been through it all already!! :)

Introducing Me!

Aloha!

I am so happy to have found this group! I'm Melinda, I'm a mom, Navy wife, daughter, friend, photographer, beach bum, shopaholic, world traveler, computer geek, baton twirler, scrapbooker and Type 1 pumper! I am so grateful for the… Continue
