Sleepovers

Its been 7 years now..you think i would be used to overnights now, but Im stil la basketcase every time she spends the night at a friends. last time she woke up at 1 am at 40! because she had bolused earlier then a half hour later tested and bolused again and went to sleep.so of course i have to go into a lecture on when the insulin peeks and how long it lasts...blah blah ,and then the what ifs. My daughter

I'm a 30 yr old stay at home mom of three beautiful girls Amilee is 1,Aislynn 7 and Jalen will be 13 next week. Jalen was diagnosed with type 1 when she was 5 and has been pumping for 6 years now. Jalen is a high honor roll student, incredible athlete, she plays soccer year round in addition to volleyball and runs track. Hey, Melissa! Thank you so much for the comment on my blog "Am I Crazy". I am happy to see that I am not, lol.

I hope all is well with your daughter Jalen and her Type 1 Diabetes. I had Diabetes in High school and know exactly what she is going through.. I actually wrote a blog about having a low blood sugar in class. Check it out when you get a second.

Hi Melissa, Yes my daughter is 11, I have exactly t he same issues, she will run good for a few days after a basal change and then poof something happens I just dont get it..Her doctor and diabetes educators say its hormones and puberty, I dont know there are days I could pull my hair out because I just dont get it!! thanks so much for writing sounds like we have alot in common!!
